4 egg yolks
1ΒΎ cups water
1/2 cup recent lemon juice
3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
Zest of 1 lemon
FOR THE MERINGUE:
4 egg whites
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 325 levels F. Place the baked pie crust on a rimmed baking sheet to catch any drips as soon as crammed.
